New Databases

Last summer was a busy time for electronic resources, and we have repeated that this year.  The table below lists new electronic resources that are on order.  When public access has been set up for these resources, they will be moved to the "New databases added" section of the update.

Database Trials

There are currently no database trials.

 

Databases  

  •  OvidSP's new interface was unveiled on July 31.  New features are listed below.  More information on this new interface is available at the OvidSP Resource Center.
    • Now you and your users will have even more search options to choose from! The Multi-Field Search mode, currently available as the Advanced Search feature in SilverPlatter, allows you to combine search terms using multiple search fields in just one step.
    • Main Search Page – the tabular format has been simplified to make better use of the screen.
    • New instructional “hint” text that explains how to best take advantage of the Basic Search mode.
    • Browse Books and Browse Journals links now displayed on the Database Selection page for easier and faster navigation to these helpful tools.
    • Adjustable font sizes throughout the entire interface - users can set the size in their browser according to their preferences
    • My Projects space where users can save, manage and export a variety of files including saved searches, full-text articles, images and files uploaded from a user's hard drive.

 

Electronic Journals

  • The web page for the HSL electronic journals is being removed.  These titles have all been added to Serials Solutions to provide integrated access to all of our electronic journals.

  • The following electronic journals were added to JSTOR collections the library subscribes to:
    • The Kenyon Review, 1939-2004, Arts & Sciences V
